I took this photo of the train window as it passes over this beautiful landscape, 16 km to the north of the city of El Jadida (80 km south of Casablanca) in MOROCCO.

This is OUED OUM ERRABIÂ (means in Arabic: Mother of Grass River ). 600 km long, very rich in water, with average flow of 117 m3 / S, it has 8 dams to provide drinking water to several cities (especially Casablanca), and irrigation water to the plains of Tadla, Chaouya, Abda and Doukkala (region of this photo).

At the bottom of the photo are the small town AZEMMOUR, which controls the arrival of the river to the coast of Atlantic Ocean.

AZEMMOUR – means in Amazigh: Olive – (40 000) is a very old city already existed in Carthaginian and Roman times, it became the capital of a kingdom Amazigh (Barghouata) 7th siècle. She fell under Portuguese domination from 1513 to 1541.

Port trade with Europe until 1672, AZEMMOUR ceded the role to her neighbor / sister El Jadida. She is now looking for a good tourism horizon.

J’ai pris cette photo de la fenêtre du train quand il passe sur ce magnifique paysage, à 16 km, au Nord de la ville d’El Jadida (80 km, au sud de Casablanca) au MAROC.

C’est  OUED OUM ERRABIÂ  (signifie en arabe: Fleuve La mère d’herbe) . Long de 600 km, Très riche en eau, avec débit moyen de 117m3/S, il possède 8 barrages, pour assurer l’eau potable à plusieurs villes (surtout Casablanca), et l’eau  d’irrigation aux plaines de Tadla, Chaouya, Abda et Doukkala (région de cette photo).

Au fond de la photo, y à la petite ville AZEMMOUR, qui contrôle  l’arrivée du fleuve à la côte d’Océan Atlantique.

AZEMMOUR – signifie en amazigh: Olive– (40 000 habitants) est une très ancienne ville existait déjà à l’époque Carthaginoise et romaine, elle devenait capitale d’une royaume amazighe (Barghouata) au 7e siècle.Elle tomba sous la domination portuguaise de 1513 au 1541.

Port du commerce avec l’Europe jusqu’à 1672, AZEMMOUR a cédé le rôle à sa voisine/soeur El Jadida. Elle cherche maintenant un bon horizon touristique.
