TRADE WIND

In the Summer you are

A Sahara sunrise,

streaks of earth tones

across the  copper sky.

Your eyes are  deep wells

where I am shipwrecked

in trade winds,

swept under  wings of

golden eagles, a gathering

of majestic birds.

When I am near you

my sigh is  the hiss of a cobra

my body the heat of

the desert sun.
