The Walt Disney Concert Hall is one of the four concert halls that make up the Los Angeles Music Center in Los Angeles. It was designed by the architect Frank Gehry and was inaugurated in October 2003. It is located in the city center.
It hosts the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and is sometimes called the Walt Disney Symphony Hall.

The project was launched with a first $ 50 million donation made in 1987 by Lillian Disney, widow of Walt Disney, pursuing the vow to support art.
In 1988, the architect Frank Gehry was appointed to carry out the building plan. The first sketch was unveiled in 1991.

The initial project budget is not enough to complete the musical complex, so the City of Los Angeles is helping to finance the construction of the six basement levels (mostly car parks). The Disney family will again contribute by donations totaling more than one hundred million dollars.

Many individuals, companies and associations are involved in the financing of the project. The stainless steel façade was added in December 2002 and the organ of the large auditorium in spring 2003.

The first concert was given in autumn 2003 by the new resident, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.
