During the sleepless nights (every June):
SAINT PETERSBURG was founded in 1703 by Tsar Peter the Great. It became the capital of the Russian Empire from 1712 until March 1917, and at that time St. Petersburg has retained a unique architectural ensemble that makes it one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
The city now has around 250 museums , close to 4,000 protected monuments.
