The 2.5 km wide caldera is filled by a more than 180 m deep crater lake. The surface of the crater lake lies about 550 m below the rim of the caldera. The volcano is 901 metres (2,956 ft) high . Based on radiocarbon dating the caldera-forming eruption occurred about 5800 years before present.

Crater Lake is a caldera lake in the U.S. state of Oregon.

It is the main feature of Crater Lake National Park and famous for its deep blue color and water clarity. The lake partly fills a nearly 4,000 feet (1,220 m) deep caldera that was formed around 2000 (± 150) BC by the collapse of the volcano Mount Mazama.

Kerið Crater Lake, Grímsnes

Kerið is a volcanic crater occupied by a crater lake located in the southern part of central Iceland. The crater is about 55 meters deep, 170 meters wide and 270 meters long. Its age is estimated at 3,000 years, that is to say only half of that of all other volcanic formations around. The lake itself is moderately deep (7 to 10 meters, depending on rainfall and other factors), but because of the mineral soil content, its waters are astonishing by a deep and intense aquamarine color.
