the oldest market place in Oslo, which was christened “Christiania Torv” only in 1958, according to the old name of the city.
Completely renovated in the 1990s and reserved for pedestrians
The fountain that adorns the square, the work of Wenche Gulbransen, was installed only in 1997: it represents the hand of Christian IV pointing the place where he decided to rebuild the city after the dramatic fire of 1624.

Living in west Sweden the distance to Oslo is not far so I have seen most of this art. It’s beautiful!
