Eugen (e) de Blaas, (born July 24, 1843 in Albano Laziale, in the province of Rome, Lazio – died in Venice on February 10, 1931) is an Italian academic painter of Austrian origin.Son of the Austrian history painter Karl von Blaas, who will also be his first teacher.
Eugen de Blaas learns his art in the academies of Venice, Vienna and Paris. He moved to Venice and painted monuments and landscapes of the Venetian region, but especially portraits of women, a genre in which he excels and to which he owes his notoriety. His works are exhibited in the museums of Leicester, Melbourne, Nottingham, Sheffield, Sydney, Vienna and Trieste.
