Albert Bierstadt (January 7, 1830 – February 18, 1902), is an American painter of German origin (born in Solingen in East Prussia, his family emigrates to New Bedford in 1833), known for his landscapes of the American West. Bierstadt was part of the Hudson River School, an informal group of nineteenth-century painters practicing a romantic painting, bathed in a radiant light …. During his long career, Bierstadt produced more than 500 canvases.
