The Last Judgement – Michelangelo

This work is on the altar wall of the Sistine Chapel. It took four years to complete from 1537 to 1541. Michelangelo worked on it three decades after finishing the ceiling of the chapel.

Michelangelo di Lodovico Simoni Buonarroti (born in Caprese, March 6, 1475 – died in Rome, February 18, 1564), is a Florentine sculptor, painter, architect, poet and urban planner of the High Renaissance.

His works … are universally regarded as masterpieces of the Renaissance.
