The Faroe Islands are a constituent country of the Kingdom of Denmark, along with Denmark and Greenland. This territory is located in the North Atlantic Ocean, between Norway, Scotland and Iceland.
The archipelago covers an area of 1,399 km2 and has 52,000 inhabitants. The Faroe Islands form an archipelago of eighteen main islands. The highest point of the archipelago is Slættaratindur, with 882 m above sea level.
