ANSELM KIEFER

Anselm Kiefer is a contemporary German plastic artist and sculptor, was born in Donaueschingen (March 8, 1945) and grew up in the border region on the borders of Switzerland and France. He now lives and works in France.
He studied all law, languages and literature, before turning to art, from 1966, in Karlsruhe.

Anselm Kiefer becomes famous in the German artistic world. In 1987 and 1988 he made his work known in the United States through a series of exhibitions in Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 1992, he came to live and work in France, in Barjac in the Gard department, then in Croissy-Beaubourg in the Île de France region.
