Niigata is a city located on the coast of the Sea of Japan, on the island of Honshū, Japan. the city had a population of about 800,000 inhabitants.
The city was born, in the 16th century, around a port and a fortress built since the year 647.
Niigata is a commercial and cultural city (with its 9 art museums and 24 museums, its university and its natural park.

  2. Very interesting statues. I wonder about the ball player. From the pose and facial expression it looks like the statue is to make fun of a rival team or to commemorate a loss in a major championship series or something. 🙂
