The granary of the planet, under the ice

Svalbard Global Seed Vault
is an underground vault on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen intended to store seeds of all food crops on our planet in a secure place, in order to preserve genetic diversity
The creation of this world reserve began on June 19, 2006, and ended on February 26, 2008. This reserve will face risks linked to natural disasters, wars, climate change, diseases or human imperatives
In an area of 1000 m2, the arch currently contains 967,216 varieties of seeds, and can accommodate around 4.5 million
[On March 27, 2017, a second bunker was built on the same island, intended to protect data such as texts, photos or videos: the Arctic World Archive.
😊
What a place!
