A MASTERPIECE, IN THE HISTORY OF PAINTING

The landscape of the painter George Michel

George Michel is an 18th century French painter, born in 1763 in Paris, where he died in 1843, Georges Michel remained throughout his life faithful to Ile-de-France and its still rural landscapes. He draws there every day, outdoors.
Admired by Vincent van Gogh, considered as the precursor of open-air painting, Georges Michel’s career is nevertheless as unique as his life remains mysterious.
