Gustav Vigeland ( 11 April 1869 – 12 March 1943) is a Norwegian sculptor. His main achievement is at Frognerpark, the largest park in Oslo, where 214 of his works are exhibited.

The square of the Niobides of the Villa Medici (Rome-Italia)
The square of the Niobides is a fountain created by Balthus, from castings of antique sculptures.
Michel Bourbon (1976) created the castings
The Académie de France, created by Louis XIV in 1666, was transferred to the Medici city in 1804 by Napoleon. The villa was restructured in 1564 on behalf of Cardinal Giovanni Ricci di Montepulciano before becoming the property of the Medici. It now depends on the French Ministry of Culture.
The building is characteristic of the Roman villas of the 16th and 17th centuries, with loggia, facade decorated with antique elements, statues and Italian garden with alleys, fountains, sculptures, studiolo.
