Lake Sevan – in the province of Gegharkunik in central Armenia – is a true natural wonder, perched on a plateau at an altitude of 1,950 meters. This freshwater lake (nicknamed the Armenian Sea) stretches 80 kilometers long and 30 kilometers wide at the foot of the mountains.
