Travel in 2021: south georgia and the south sandwich islands

South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands is a British Overseas Territory, located in the Southern Atlantic Ocean, between South America and Antarctica. The territory covers an area of 4,190 km2, distributed between the island of South Georgia (very mountainous), the South Sandwich Islands and a few isolated rocks. But only Grytviken and Bird Island are permanently inhabited by 35 people.

The territory has a tundra climate, with an average temperature of 2.4 °c (The temperature today is 7°c / 4°c).
