Guangzhou or Canton, is the capital of Guangdong province in southern China. It has always been the largest city in southern China. It now has 15 million inhabitants. It forms with the neighboring cities of Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan and Jiangmen, Hong Kong and Macao, the Chinese megalopolis of the Pearl River Delta.
