Photos of my trip to Madrid (4): Parque del Buen Retiro

I was in Madrid from February 23 to March 02, 2022. I immortalized hundreds of photos for you, my dear friends and visitors. I will publish them in articles for 6 days. I hope you like them.

Buen Retiro Park is a large park (125 hectares) located in the center of Madrid, not far from the historic city, the modern city, the Prado Museum and the main commercial arteries (especially the Gran Via).
It was created between 1630 and 1640, at the same time as the construction of the Buen Retiro Palace, which would be a secondary royal residence of King Philip IV.

At the end of the 19th century, it became a public park.

The park is inscribed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO on July 25, 2021.

The park is home to 15,000 trees, 12 statues, a large artificial pond, two palaces (Crystal Palace and Velázquez Palace).
The park has a large outdoor exercise area for everyone (athletes, families, lovers, pedestrians and cyclists), facilities for the elderly and spaces for children.
Around the lake, settle many shows and artists of painting and music.
The park is home to the oldest tree in Madrid (present since 1630).
