1-the small city Pau
Pau is a city located in the south-west of France, along the northern ridge of the Pyrenees mountains, about 85 km from the Spanish border, and 110 km from the Atlantic Ocean. Its location at the foot of the Pyrenees gives it a vast panorama over the Pyrenees, particularly from the Boulevard des Pyrénées
The city is located in the heart of the former sovereign state of Béarn, of which it is the capital since 1464.
Urban population 242,829 inhabitants (2014).
