Greenland
The second largest island in the world
Greenland is an autonomous territory attached to Denmark located in North America.
It represents 97% of the territory of Denmark, with 2 166 086 km² (the second largest island in the world, after Australia).With a population of just over 50,000, Greenland is the least densely populated country in the world with about 0.03 inhab./km2.

The south-west coast enjoys quite long and fairly mild summers. The maximum temperatures are around 10 ° C in summer with a heat record of 28 ° C.

Goenland was discovered by Icelandic Vikings, in 982, it had been inhabited previously for nearly four millennia by peoples of the Arctic (cultures of Dorset and Saqqaq in particular).
The first arrivals had almost disappeared and the Inuit peoples now living in Greenland did not settle there until the early eighteenth century.

Wow, Greenland has always fascinated me and I am so excited for my first trip there this year. I didn’t realise the Inuit people were such a ‘recent’ settlement! Your pictures are so colourful- the skies are brilliant blue! Did you find it expensive?
